Fire Extinguishers and Non-Water Based System Licensing

New or expired applicants will be required to take an in-person written exam based on NFPA 10 with a passing grade of 70%.
In Maryland, individuals and companies that install or service fire extinguishers and non-water-based suppression systems must be licensed by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM).
Application process
- Submit a resume of your qualifications.
- Submit copies of current training certificates.
- Applicants must indicate if they intend to perform high-pressure testing.
- New or expired applicants will be required to take an in-person written exam based on NFPA 10 with a passing grade of 70%.
