Firework Shooter License
Key information
Must be at least 21 years.
Must pass the OSFM fireworks shooter exam (for new applicants only)
Must complete certified training under the NFPA 1123 (2018)
Application must be notarized.
Renewal is required every 3 years.
Any one that ignites fireworks by manual or electric means needs to have a firework shooter license.

- Examination For Certification Of Competency For Conducting Fireworks Displays Before A Proximate Audience
- Study Materials: The exams are based on the following standards:
- NFPA 1123: Standard for Outdoor Fireworks Display.
- NFPA 1126: Standard for Use of Pyrotechnics Before a Proximate Audience.
- Maryland Code: Title 10 of the Public Safety Article and the State Fire Prevention Code.
- Copies of all training certificates
- Copies of any current firework certifications

Application processing time
Allow 3-5 business days for review and up to 30 days for license issuance.
